BEST Ljubljana is preparing a meeting of over 70 active BEST membes of the Central region in late March 2009. The region incorporates 10 local BEST groups from 6 European coutnries: Austria, Czech republic, Croatia, Hungary, Romania ans Slovakia.
The goal of the meeting is connecting nearby local groups and arranging common activities, training of participans and experience sharing. On this meeting, workshops on different subjects (meeting moderation, team work, motivation..) will be held. All participants are active in their local BEST groups and thus highly motivated.
We offer to companies to present themselves through interactive workships in forms of case studies or engineering competitions..

CASE STUDY

A Case study is a workshop in which a company presents a problem it ecountered and involves the participants in solving it. At the end of the workshop the proposals are analysed and the chosen or used solution is argumented.

ENGINEERING COMPETITION

In an Engineering competition, a company can present a technological challenge, that requires skills, ingeneuety and quick thinking on behalf of the participants to solve. The problem is approached individually or as a part of a team. The problem is analysed on the end of the competition. Engineering competitions are particularily popular, because they allow the students to prove themselves on actual cases, while the company obtains an excellent overview of their work, ability and ingeneuety.

We present you an event, which enables the students of science and technology to obtain useful skills, experiences and make new friendships among their peers, as well as freshen the everyday life and improve connections between students, faculties and companies. The event is sponsored academically by the University of Ljubljana.
Good students have the knowledge, but only the best have the ability to use it in practice. Our goal with this event is to present new technologies and skills in the fields of science and technology to the students of University of Ljubljana, as well as broaden their horisons to beyond what is taught on their faculty.
On this four day event, held for the third time this year, a series of interesting lectures, workships, case studies and engineering competitions in the fields of machine and electrical engineering, computer sciences, informatics, structural engineering and chemistry will be held. The event will be crowned by a symposium, where representatives of the academia, commerce, as well as representatives of relevant government ministeries and students will be invited to share their thoughts on major issues in the fields of science and technology.

Some highlights of the BEST days of technology and science 2008:

• Over 400 satisfied students from various faculties,
• Cooperation with several renown companies (HELIOS, REVOZ, ŠPICA, RUUKKI, NIL),
• Cooperation with numerus proffessors and assistants from various fields,
• Good reviews from students, companies and academia.

We would like to invite you to prepare a workshop, a case study or an engineering competition on the BEST days of science and technology. In addition to the challenge offered to the students by the workshops, it is also an excellent opportunity for them to show their skills to you, their potential employers. On the other hand, this is also an excellent opportunity for your company to invite the best students to become your employees, as well as to present your products and your company to the student in an interesting and interactive way.
